Arrival in Makassar, followed by morning forest birdwatching in Karaenta and afternoon waterbirding in the Tambua area.

Day 01: Arrival in Makassar

Airport pickup at Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport, Makassar by our local birdwatching team. Transfer to hotel for check-in, equipment preparation, and tour briefing.

Karaenta Forest and Tambua Wetland

Day 02: Makassar – Karaenta – Ramang-Ramang – Tambua

Depart at 05:00 AM to Karaenta Nature Reserve (approx. 1-hour drive). Meet local rangers to track endemic forest species, followed by breakfast on site. Continue to Ramang-Ramang Ecolodge via Leang-Leang for lunch. At 02:30 PM, visit Tambua fishponds for afternoon wetland and waterbird watching.

Tonasa & Amarai Forests, Balocci Karst & Departure

Exploring canopy forest birds and raptors around the Balocci karst towers before tour conclusion.

Day 03: Ramang-Ramang – Tonasa – Amarai – Balocci

Depart at 05:00 AM to Tonasa and Amarai Forests to search for endemic hornbills. Breakfast and lunch served in the field. In the afternoon, continue birding around Balocci Karst towers to observe raptors and endemic karst species before returning to the lodge at 06:00 PM.
